Violence Prevention Center of Berks

"Advocating Violence-Free Lives in our Families and Communities"

Renovations:
The Violence Prevention Center of Berks (VPCBerks), in cooperation with Hope Lutheran Church, is renovating the Preisser Center at 105 West Greenwich Street (the corner of Front and Greenwich streets), Reading, PA 19601-2718. Repairs to the roof, including installing new architectural shingles, were completed over the summer. Interior work is now underway. We are in need of an electrician who is licensed in the City of Reading to donate some time to help upgrade the wiring. Donations of time and money are also needed to complete repairs to the walls and flooring.

Once renovations are complete, the Preisser Center will become a Neighborhood Resource Center run jointly by Hope Lutheran Church and VPCBerks. The Preisser Center will offer free computer classes for neighborhood residents, meeting space for community organizations and much more.
