Purpose:
The Violence Prevention Center of Berks (VPCBerks) is concerned with stemming the tide of violence in our community by providing programs and outreach for parents, children and teen-agers who are at risk of becoming victims or perpetrators of violence.

VPCBerks both designs and implements programs as well as provides referrals to other agencies.

History:
Established in August 2006 as the Violence Prevention Roundtable of Berks after the funeral for a slain Reading police officer, VPCBerks combines the skills and knowledge of seral organizations representing government, chemical abuse counseling and domestic violence service providers, housing agencies, law enforcement, the faith community and neighborhood organizations.

VPCBerks incorporated in the state of Pennsylvania as a non-profit entity on November 9, 2009. Our acceptance letter can be viewed here.
